Is it possible to build a knightmare frame

The name "Knightmare Frame" is a play on the word "nightmare" and a knight's mare. There also exists a derivative type of war machine based on the Knightmare Frames called the Knight Giga Fortress. Knightmare Frames often have a humanoid shape and are usually between four and five meters tall, about twice the height of an average main battle tank, giving them a significant height advantage, although not necessarily range advantage.

In addition to the standard range of bipedal movement, Knightmare Frames are equipped with Landspinners , self-propelled roller skates attached to the ankles of the machines, which allow them to achieve high mobility and speeds on most terrain.

Visual data is gathered through Factsphere Sensors, which have thermographic capability and an array of other data-collection functions which are collated in real-time. Factspheres are commonly protected under a layer of armor which can be retracted to improve system sensitivity.

Knightmare Frames are piloted from a cockpit set in the protruding 'hump back' in the unit. The cockpit is a self-contained control center which can be ejected in case of emergency. Although Knightmare heads seem to have no real function besides housing Factspheres, it seems they are required to pilot the Knightmare, as seen when a pilot ejects himself when his life in danger and the Knightmare's head is knocked off.

Mass-production models usually carry handheld coilgun-based Assault Rifles, which are able to fire micro ordinance as well, and sometimes Chaos Mines , cylindrical air burst grenades that spray deadly shrapnel over a small area.

Less common equipment though they become more widespread as the series progresses include Maser Vibration Swords MVS , a form of vibroblade which oscillates at a high rate to cut through almost anything, and Hadron Cannons , powerful energy cannons which can obliterate almost anything in their path. It is shown that, between models, Knightmare parts can be transferred in the event a machine loses a limb in battle. During the First Assault on Tokyo Settlement , the Lancelot lost its left arm and the Guren lost its right arm during battle with each other.

Both machines each had their missing limb replaced by a Sutherland arm. When the Lancelot had its arm replaced, Suzaku mentioned the Sutherland parts being cleared for compatibility, implying that not all Knightmares can provide replacement parts to one another. Considering how the Lancelot and Guren were both 7th-Generation units and the Sutherland parts they carried came from 5th-Generation units, it is implied that this procedure is possible for 5th-Generation-and-above units.

It is also shown that Knightmares from the different factions can be modified to accept technology from others. The centerpiece may also contain some kind of liquid, as when the Lancelot first launched, bubbles could be seen rising before the activation of the Core Luminous.

The technology is named after the Yggdrasil Tree of Norse Mythology. The union of those two terms gave birth to the name 'Knightmare Frame'. Due to Britannia's success in Japan with the Glagow this generation saw the development of Anti-Knightmare weapons leading to create the RPI Sutherland design to take on other Knightmares. It is possible that there may be a mass production series of the 9th generation or even more generations after thus the years following the Zero Requiem however until the release of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection we wont know for sure.

Kallen mostly manages to wipe out other Knightmares with this, until she gets stuck fighting a Knight Giga Fortress and its overwhelming weaponry.

A more powerful Knightmare frame than had been seen before, this suit had a Float System built into its body that allowed it to maneuver in mid-air better than any suit introduced in the series before. It also possesses a pair of shields on its shoulders which are used as Slash Harkens, along with the typical Blaze Luminous energy shield ability. But what truly sets it apart is the Megistos Omega power, which allows it to move at even higher speeds than normal, leaving after images in its wake like Trans-Am mode from Gundam This suit was used by the king of Zilkhstan, Shalio, and gave Lancelot siN a pretty even fight for a large part of the Lelouch of the Resurrection film.

It has two swords shaped like spears that the user can combine to form into a lance. I love the movements the Vincent can with the lance. We see this in the R2 episode 2 and R2 episode What I love about is how it looks like the legendary Spartan hero Leonidas I who is known for fighting the Persian army with just Spartans. I love how the flight system is not obvious as the six-generation Knightmares and even the seventh.

Once interesting about this Knightmare is that it does not have any advanced weapons like the Hadron Cannon or uses Radiant Wave Technology. This is appropriate considering it looks like a Spartan warrior so it should fight like one as well.

I was not a big fan of the pilot but the Knightmare itself is awesome and the best one introduced in the film. Choosing between the Shinkiro and the Gawain was really hard since I love both of them. This is especially true with the new shield system and its Hadron cannons which are now fired from the wrists. The shield system is impressive as it is stated to best of any Knightmare and comes in handy many times in the series. Much like the Triston, it has fortress mode where the Knightmare can transform into a flying vehicle.

But my favorite aspect of this Knightmare is its presence. It is gigantic and has an impressive arsenal of weapons. What makes it unique when compared to the other Gloucesters is the head which has elf-like ears attached. Beyond that, it has the standard abilities of a fifth-generation Knightmare. What always impressed me about this model is that Cornelia could effectively combat Knightmare frames two generations higher.

There are also so many memorable moments with this Knightmare. My favorite being the time that Cornelia nearly defeats Lelouch in the Gawain. Originally the arm had to grab an opposing Knightmare to use Radiant Wave Technology. Then it was able to fire the Wave as a beam. And finally, now the arm can detach and hit multiple targets and fire a beam. While Rakshata may not approve I love the wing system used in this nightmare it matches the color scheme perfectly.

It also helps distinguish it from the modern float systems used in Knightmares like the Zengetsu. My favorite parts with this Knightmare are the scene when Kallen saves Lelouch with it and the final battle between Kallen and Suzaku.

The Tristan Divider is an improved version of the Tristan designed to help it stand a chance against the Lancelot Albion. What makes this Knightmare Frame rank so high is the design alone.
